PRESCRIPTION GUIDE

Reading your prescription doesn’t have to be complicated.

Your eyeglass prescription contains a few measurements that tell the lab how your lenses should be made.

When ordering RAPTR eyewear, you can enter your prescription online, upload a copy, or send it after checkout.

OD & OS

OD = Right eye
OS = Left eye

Your prescription will normally list measurements separately for each eye.

SPH — Sphere

SPH indicates the main amount of vision correction needed.

Examples:

-1.25
+2.00
0.00

Enter the plus or minus sign exactly as it appears on your prescription.

CYL — Cylinder

CYL is used when your prescription includes correction for astigmatism.

Examples:

-0.50
-1.25
0.00

If your prescription has no CYL value, it may be blank or shown as zero.

AXIS

AXIS works together with CYL and indicates the orientation of astigmatism correction.

It is expressed as a number between:

1 and 180

If your CYL is not zero, your prescription should normally include an AXIS value. RAPTR’s ordering system checks for this when you enter your prescription manually.

ADD

ADD is generally used for multifocal or progressive prescriptions.

Examples:

+1.50
+2.00
+2.50

If you select progressive lenses, RAPTR requires the ADD measurement for both eyes before the prescription can be processed.

WHAT IS PD?

Pupillary Distance

PD measures the distance between your pupils and helps position the optical center of your lenses correctly.

Your prescription may show:

Single PD:
63

or

Dual / Monocular PD:
31.5 / 31.5

Either format can be entered during RAPTR ordering. The current prescription form accepts formats such as 63 or 31.5 / 31.5.

If you enter your prescription manually, PD is required before the order can proceed.

THREE WAYS TO PROVIDE YOUR PRESCRIPTION

1. ENTER IT NOW

Enter your OD, OS and PD information while building your RAPTR pair.

2. UPLOAD YOUR PRESCRIPTION

Upload a copy of your prescription during ordering.

RAPTR currently accepts:

PDF · JPG · JPEG · PNG · HEIC

3. SEND IT LATER

You can complete checkout and send your prescription afterward.

Your eyewear will not be released to the lab until the required prescription and PD information are complete.

BEFORE PRODUCTION

We review your prescription information before your eyewear is released for production.

If something is missing or unclear, we’ll contact you.

Some stronger or specialty prescriptions may require a thinner/high-index lens. If that happens, RAPTR will confirm the available option and any additional cost with you before production.

Nothing is upgraded without your approval.

NEED HELP?

If you’re unsure which numbers to enter, upload your prescription instead and we’ll review it.
